Hi friends!

Welcome to my new site & blog!  I hope you enjoy it and that it keeps you up to date on all that’s going on.  Feel free to post comments, questions and suggestions and I’ll try to get back to you asap!  The last few months have been quite busy and fun-filled. Here’s the short and sweet update.

March: I was just asked to sit on the Board of Directors for the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual & Domestic Violence.  It’s such an honor to be asked and I’m very excited to serve my state and continue to be part of such an important cause!  In 2004-2005 I was the spokesperson for the KCSDV and was able to reach over 50,000 people with the message of awareness and prevention.  If you or someone you know is in a potential abusive situation, please open your mouth and break the silence!  Every person deserves to expect respect in their relationships!

This month I’m busy recruiting and preparing for the Miss Kansas Outstanding Teen Pageant!  It’s coming up June 1-2 but the application deadline is April 15th. If you know of any teens who are talented and involved in their community, this is the perfect opportunity for them!  For more information please go to www.misskansas.org.

February: I was just back in Santa Monica for my close friend Julianne’s wedding at St. Monica’s Church.  She is an amazing singer - she sang in her wedding AND wrote a song for her husband which she sang at the reception. I’m SO proud of her and was honored to be a part of their special day.  Oh how I miss Santa Monica!  It was 75 and sunny the whole time I was there… it’s been in the 40’s here in KS the last few days…ugh.

January: I am a new lead singer for AnnieUp!!!  AnnieUp is a female fronted band that plays Country, Dance, and Classic Rock music.  For the past year they have successfully entertained at Corporate Events, Fairs, Festivals, Private Parties, and Casinos in the Midwest.  Performing is my passion and I’m having a blast!  I’m on the road 3 weekends a month, so be sure to check out our myspace page to see when we’ll be performing near you!!!  www.myspace.com/annieupband

December: Competed in the Miss Kansas USA 2009 pageant and won the Interview and Mentor awards and placed 1st Runner Up!!! Though bittersweet as this was my last year to compete, I had an amazing time and was very excited and happy with all that I accomplished.  My gown was designed by Korto Momolu, 1st Runner Up on Project Runway and was AMAZING!!!  So unique and asymmetrical, I absolutely LOVE it!!!
